Popular opinion holds that people who live where I do go into Washington D.C. a lot. This is sadly untrue.

I realized after taking this picture that shooting in the D.C. Metro was probably inadvisable and could frighten other passengers - particularly tourists. That said, this is the Smithsonian Metro station. Not Pentagon.

Of course, if I’d shot these photos recently all of those lovely flowers would be dead. Or perhaps not yet buds, depending on your level of optimism.
